I definitely agree that it is horrifying a child gave birth at such a young age. However, it is relieving to know that most five year olds won't become pregnant due to Lina Medina having an unknown medical disorder. Most female children do not start menstruating at eight months either, while Medina did. It is also thought that she was molested by her father, therefore the baby being a product of rape, but there wasn't enough evidence to be sure this is how she was impregnated. But now a days children start having sex earlier and earlier, and I think they are not ready for that step. Elementary kids should not have to worry about getting pregnant, or shouldn't have to worry about getting an abortion. There should be prevention work done in order to keep young girls from becoming pregnant.
